Goal: The care and management of all documentation relating to IMO, CCNR and Class, including the accompanying decreases.
The work of the Technical Support Engineer is in the extension of legal / binding environmental regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR) (including reducing emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) etc. of combustion engines). The IMO / CCNR inspections are carried out by TNO, a surveyor of a classification society is present to verify that all components are actually on the engine. The original engine (parent engine) should be inspected ones. Member engines that are an exact copy of the parent engine does not longer have to be inspected.
In addition the Technical Support Engineer has to carry out the work in the extended demanded by customers classification of the internal combustion engine in the context of for example insurance, etc. In the absence of the necessary licenses, it is possible that the ship will be chained up.
Description of activities
Preparation
When the engines are arriving at the production location, retrieve technical information (certificates of the material regarding the content of the engine) to the foreign supplier, in order to achieve the necessary documentation timely.
The candidate takes care of the documents and drawing that are necessary for the implementation of the approval of different types of engines for various inspection agencies and the candidate will direct these tests.
IMO / CCNR / Class
When purchasing an engine, the candidate will assist the Department of Planning with the invited Surveyors of classification or research companies.
Creating the necessary documents on the basis off (among others) the supplied input form of Sales, received information from Planning, etc.
Ensuring that appropriate technical information is available by Surveyors during inspections.
Signing documents (test protocols, etc.) by Surveyors and by his self signing.
Submission of documents with the classification societies and a follow-up by telephone so that the formal handling process will be quicker.
Speak to customers (distributors / dealers) who are asking for information about the status of certification.
Fulfilling of stamped documents, including test protocols, TNO report, checklists and certificates, etc by sending to customers, etc.
Archiving and managing of the various documents.
Structure / powers
Receive commands from the Application Engineering Manager. Works on the basis of the input form of Sales, procedures and international guidelines and regulations. Should take into account long delivery times of material certificates by foreign suppliers. Solutions must be found if necessary documents lack for survey. When customers have urgent request, the candidate has to set priorities in the submission of documents by classification societies and the handling of received documents.
Responsibility
Directing the involved employees by changes in the regulation process regarding to IMO, CCNR and CLASS;
Providing the necessary information to customers in order that they can place orders in the necessary specifications;
Ensuring that the correct documents are present on time in the right place;
Proper management of the documents;
Contact with CLASS agencies and clients |

Working with a keyboard of a PC in compute the correspondence and when creating documents.
Expression Skill in foreign languages
The English language is required by :
Conducting interviews with distributors / dealers on the status of various projects;
Conducting interviews and drafting correspondence with rating agencies; |
