Job Title Resident Engineer Ii Site
Department Project Managers Grade: A
Reports to Managing Director
Coordinates with the Project Manager regarding design and documentation issues.
Job purpose
To act as Engineer’s/Client’s Representative in the administration of the construction contract.
To ensure that the clients responsibilities under the Supervision Agreement with the Client and the Supervision Undertaking with the Kuwait Municipality are fulfilled.
Duties - include but are not limited to …
Manage the Supervision Team to:-
- Action all construction contract correspondence with contractor(s), client and constrcution manager (if applicable).
- Carry out inspections for approval of the works.
- Review and action material, shop drawing, sample, mock-up etc. Submittals.
- Issue instructions to contractor for their action to comply with the construction contract time and quality requirements.
- Action the Client`s instructions to modify the works in consultation with the Head Office if involving change to the design.
- Liaise with the Head Office designers and Statutory Authorities to resolve site queries.
- Hold progress/coordination meetings to expedite the works.
- Issue to the client and Head Office regular project progress reports.
- Review and process contractor payments and variation orders.
- Review and advise client on contractor claims.
- Issue substantial and final completion certificates. Prepare and follow up snag lists.
- Review and approve operation and maintenance manuals and as-built drawings.
- Carry out administration and human resource procedures for site supervision staff.
- Issue supervision invoices to Client for payment. Follow up payment until received.
Supervisory Responsibilities
List number and titles of subordinates Yes
Site Engineers and Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Inspectors, Land Surveyors, secreataries and support staff.
Physical Demands of the job Mainly office based with site duties which include walking, climbing ladders and stairs. Exposure to hot weather.
Minimum Qualifications B Eng or B.Sc Civil or Structural Engineering, B Sc Architecture or B Architecture
Preferred Qualifications M Eng or M Arch, M.Sc Engineering or Architecture
Registration required Kuwait Society of Engineers, Kuwait Municipality. Registered/Chartered Member of Professional Institution from country of graduation preferable.
Type of Experience required Resident Engineer for similar projects, minimum 15 years experience (and depends on contract requirement)
