This leading Hospital is seeking a Quality Program Educator for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.
The Quality Program (QP) Educator is responsible for the overall assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality training for employees across the Hospital. The Educator will provide the highest level of training that supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Organisation, ensuring that training programs meet the JCI standards and achievement of ongoing quality improvement.
The Educator must have up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice and JCI standards and processes. He/she must be able to build enthusiasm and commitment among employees in order to achieve JCI accreditation and the strategic goals including progress toward the Organisation’s strategic objective of becoming recognized as a center of excellence by 2010.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Main Duties
Working with the QP Team, the Educator will:
1. Evaluate training needs and coordinate the selection of quality trainees.
2. Establish and maintain quality training objectives.
3. Record accurate compilation of total quality training initiatives; maintain and ensure timely communication of training calendars.
4. Develop training sessions and carry out effective training on a range of subjects that satisfy and meet operational and individual needs according to JCI standards, including the evaluation of the effectiveness of such training.
5. Identify the need and coordinate the delivery of education and training by external providers.
6. Ensure that all practices, correspondence, and materials support the achievement of Mission, Vision and Values.
7. Attend all relevant committee and/or QP Team meetings.
8. Act as professional role model and provide mentoring leadership.
9. Monitor performance of trainees and meet monthly with them at a minimum.
Administrational
1. Review and approve the monthly training calendar prior to distribution.
2. Monitor and report on attendance tracking.
3. Ensure all new or revised policies and procedures are communicated to all relevant employees.
4. Work with the QP Team to obtain prioritization and approval of all training standards.
5. Ensure the updating of relevant job descriptions for train-the-trainer.
6. Stay current with best practice guidelines, standards, educational equipment, materials, conferences and available skills-training sessions.
Financial
1. Recycle and re-use all materials when possible, being constantly aware of environmental issues.
2. Actively employ cost saving ideas and encourage training staff to do the same.
3. Assist with the compilation and management of the QP budget.
4. Ensure value-added benefit of external trainers.
Training In-house Employees
1. Ensure appropriate communication processes are established within the QP.
2. Determine the necessary competence for train-the trainer employees and provide training for them to satisfy these needs.
3. Ensure that train-the-trainer employees are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the hospital objectives.
4. Maintain appropriate records of education, training, skills and experience of train-the-trainer employees.
5. Provide consistent coaching, counselling and mentorship to train-the-trainer employees to enhance their capacity to meet the needs of the organization’s customers.
6. Plan, recruit and retain skilled in-house staff required for professional, efficient, and effective operations of the QP.
Departmental Trainers
1. Responsible for all in-house QP trainers in their certification and coaching. Provide ongoing support and motivation and maintain regular contact with them.
2. Monitor, compile and report monthly on quality training plans for all hospital departments.
3. Audit and follow-up departmental quality training records on a monthly basis.
4. Report to QP Director any issues that arise in following through on the quality training.
To apply you will possess a Degree in Adult Education or health-related profession. You will also have a minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in healthcare education and a
Minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital management role, including experience with the accreditation process.
Other requirements include:
1 Proven computer skills in MS Office and presentation skills.
2 Experience with training needs assessments.
3 Skills in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of training programs.
4 Experience with report writing, analysis and evaluation of business objectives.
5 Experience with hospital accreditation processes.
