Principal Tunnel Engineer
Primary Objectives
-to lead, manage and deliver Tunnel projects

Our client is a leading engineering & development consultancy with operations in over 100 countries with over 10,000 staff covering disciplines from health, education, transport, water, environment, buildings, energy, to communications and industrial. They are involved with some of the most complex engineering projects worldwide.
Description
You will be a senior member of the team, and will be exposed to a plethora of large and smaller scaled tunneling projects.
Responsibilities include:
-Involvements in risk assessment
-Contribute to specification documents.
- For new build, modification, refurbishment maintenance projects, you will produce design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings, covering a range of project requirements
- Lead, manage and ensure delivery of Tunnel projects and coordinate other engineering disciplines including, structural, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineers.
- Support junior members of the tunnels team
- Act on contractor queries and attend site meetings
- Lead projects from start to finish.

| Capacités Requises: |
Requirements
You will have Tunnel design engineering experience and will be able to demonstrate exceptional design engineering technical competences.
- Extensive tunnel design experience including TBMs, soft ground and rock tunnels.
- Experience of cavern design and rock mechanics will also benefit any applicant.
- A strong academic background, degree qualified
- Experience of successfully managing engineering teams
- Experience of working on multiple projects
- Willing to develop technical and management skills
- Structural design experience would be ideal, as well as a basic understanding of soil or rock mechanics
- Skills in structural engineering, geotechnics, numerical modelling, immersed tubes and railway and metro engineering will all be highly valued and utilised.
- Trouble-shooting mind-set
- Commercial minded
- Excellent reporting skills |
