This new and exciting Organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Western Music for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.
In this role your duties will include:
1. Manage the development and implementation and curriculums specialising in western music subjects
2. Responsible for delivering programmes that are distinguishable from mainstream programmed by their effectiveness for student learning
3. Responsible for the implementation of an integrated curriculum composing of Arabic and Western Music and General Academics covering Grades 1-12 (ages 6-18)
4. Role to include being an education administrator providing leadership in day-to-day activities in school such as schedule of day-to-day timetabling including:
a) Teaching at least 2-3 subjects in the music field
b) Deployment of teaching staff
c) Allocation of lessons
d) Pastoral care of students
5. Direct and set educational standards and goals for the music faculty in areas such as classroom practices.
6. Establish the policies and procedures and line manage teaching and support staff
Experience:
Ideally you will possess a Masters Degree of PhD in Music with 10+ years experience of music teaching.
• Experience in music education research, program development and evaluation is preferred.
• Knowledge of educational methods and strategies with familiarity with music education innovations and best practices
• Knowledge of music educational theory related to models of curriculum , teaching and learning and classroom practice.
• Ability to develop and evaluate effective learning procedures
• Have previously had works published in relation to western music
• Have excellent communication skills
Salary is negotiable based on experience plus an excellent benefits package.
