Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Description: GSM Systems is an international provider of GSM Network Hardware Equipment. We operate globally with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Cyprus, Nigeria, and Bermuda. We are a small and growing company that thrives off a high paced, high energy environment. We currently have demand for a Warehouse Manager who has interest in global entrepreneurship.
This individual will need to support our warehouse in all of GSMS Operations and Logistics. This will include managing shipments, meeting rigorous deadlines, project management, inventory management, upkeep of the overall functionality of the warehouse. Certain skills GSM Systems will require of the Warehouse Manager include organization, interpersonal skills, leadership, and a strong desire to succeed.
The WH Manager will be evaluated based on 3 major criteria:
1. Engineering and Warehouse Deliverables: You will oversee our full time engineer staff that will need motivation in order to achieve project deadlines. The average lead time per order will be outlined for each project and the WH Manager will be in charge of driving and completing the deadline in a timely fashion. The overall functionality of the WH will need daily attention – internet, VPN, tools, maintenance, packing supplies, and waste removal. He will also need to monitor the space used and maintain cost effective organization of the warehouse as well as prepare for client visits.
2. Logistics: You will be responsible for moving all freight in and out of the warehouse. The average lead time per shipments will be outlined prior to each shipment. You drive the request for quote process with a network of Freight Forwarders, pack, prepare, and execute shipments daily. You will need to keep costs low on freight and ensure shipments are going to plan by planning customs issues, difficult supplies, and provide up to date shipment information to the NY office. All goods planned to shipping and receiving in the warehouse will require a set of quality controls; neutralization, goods securely packed, serials numbers recorded, and reduction of RMAs based on the volume of orders. You will prepare and update the Logistics Status Template reporting all shipments on a bi-weekly progress.
3. Inventory Management: CORE IMS is an automated system of software that you will need to understand fluently. An effective understanding of our inventory will be essential as you will need to update the NY office including an allocation for expected and outstanding orders. All serial numbers will be recorded and saved to the job files. You will make updates to CORE IMS which will reflect the inventory counts in real time. You will need to manage multiple locations of inventory and report your findings on a bi-weekly basis. You will also complete quarterly inventory checks to ensure accuracy. You will also be responsible for how the inventory is packed, stored, and organized as the engineers will rely on your systems for picking and preparing order in the event you are not in the WH.
The must have skills include, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Operations or Logistics, fluent English, and functional knowledge of Microsoft office, and positive attitude. Major plusses are technical GSM knowledge, language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic, and Russian.
