Our client is seeking a highly experienced Patient Accounts Officer for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.
The Patient Accounts Officer’s responsibility is to assist Manager, Patient Accounts in process billing and collection from third party payers. He / she shall liaise and follow up with third party payers, post, consolidate and generate charges and submits bills to third party payers for payment.
He / she shall submit claims to the third party payers, including the National Health Authority, insurance companies and corporations, in such manner as may be required, and follow up on collection of payment.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
1 Consolidates the bills for payment by third parties and ensures compliance with agreed third party claims submission.
2 Follows up with patients / third party account holder for any supporting documents not provided or requiring amendments.
3 Follows up with the third party payers for payment.
4 Raises adjustment forms for all amendments and cancellations to, as well as supplementary claims.
5 Provides helpful and professional services to doctors, third party clients and patients regarding enquiries or clarifications on patients’ third-parties claims, claims process, charges, etc.
6 Maintains a systematic filing system for all bills and related documents.
7 Reports any discrepancies in the payment received and/or the clients / patients’ outstanding accounts.
8 Provides support to front line staff (ie receptionist, clinic and ward staff) by handling and assisting with their enquiries.
9 Assists the Manager, Patient Accounts by attending to queries by clients / debtors of recent or past settlements made for outstanding debts.
10 Generates monthly trade debtor listings and statements of accounts for circulation to the credit controller for follow up action.
11 Responsible for the monthly accounts closing by generating the monthly summary of all collection for posting to general ledger.
12 Assumes any other responsibilities as directed by the Manager, Patient Accounts.
Job Requirements
A Education, Training And Experience
1 Diploma in accounting, LCCI - Higher Accounting or Certificate in Business Studies - Major in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
2 Similar previous hospital billing experience would be an advantage
In return you will receive a negotiable TAX FREE salary between $25,000 - $30,000 USD per
Year plus an excellent benefits package.
