A leading multi-disciplinary civil engineering company based in South Africa wants to appoint a Senior Contracts Engineer to its Board of Directors. This “African Rainmaker” must have significant previous experience in Earth Moving, Major Earth Works, Major Concrete Works and Major Civil Infrastructure experience and will also be responsible for overseeing a large scale Hydropower project.
You would also be the main point of contact for clients, site managers and building contractors throughout the project life. Ideally you have Build Own Transfer (BOT) and Design and Build contract experience. You may have significant project management experience from other industries, and be wishing to make the move into the engineering sector.
The ideal candidate must have 20 years of related experience, a professional engineering qualification and should be comfortable to communicate and do presentations at boardroom level. Your remuneration package is highly negotiable and will be based on your experience, seniority and the value that you can/will add to the company in the future ie. new contracts.

Due to continued growth and involvement in a number of major civil and environmental projects they are looking for a highly experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to join their International team to work on large scale civil projects based in Africa.

Your main responsibilities will include:
• Review contractual issues and ensure compliance with FIDIC guidelines and regulations.
• Putting together project estimates, including budgets and timescales.
• Organize and presenting documents for tenders.
• Contribute to work planning, briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers on requirements.
• Approving any additional work to be done within set timescales.
• Resolve disputes should they arise and to identify areas for improvement in existing contracting processes.
