Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to set up and oversee the development of an exciting new hospital project in Tbilisi, Georgia.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting a new adventure and challenge.
In the role you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Leadership/management
• Provide the overall leadership for the effective and efficient financial services of the hospital, ensuring full probity by all parties
• Act at all times in a manner that provides a positive role model for less senior members of staff in the hospital
• Member of the Hospital Executive Team
• Take a proactive role in identifying and recommending means by which profitability of the hospital could be improved
Operational Budgets
• Produce of annual rolling hospital budgets
• Assist the CEO in the preparation of the annual Business Plan
• Assist departmental heads produce their own department budgets for consolidation
• Overview of performance against budget and production of reports on variances etc to Hospital Executive Team
• Work with department heads to manage variances and/or trends
• Produce, in liaison with Technical (Facilities) Director, and maintain a rolling programme of plant and equipment replacement
Management Accounts and reports
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts for Hospital Executive Team and [Management Company]
• Produce year end financial reports
• Produce annual financial statements and their reconciliation for the annual external audit
• Produce analytical and forecast reports as required by Hospital Executive Team
Others
• Ensure all necessary operational policies, procedures, protocols, delegations of authority are in place
• Ensure maintenance of the Hospital Chargemaster and regular updating of prices and cost calculations
• Assist in pricing strategy and levels, and discounting decisions made by the CEO and Hospital Executive Team
• Supervise all financial transactions including payments to creditors and payroll
• With the assistance of the Lawyer, keep ‘accounts receivable days’ to the agreed minimum target
• Maintain the approved bank accounts and ensure the hospital remains cash positive
• In liaison with other heads of department, ensure effective cost management programmes are in place
• In liaison with Materials Manager, Chief Engineer etc, ensure assets of the hospital are properly recorded and managed
• Manage the annual stock take
• Prepare annual budget for the department and manage the approved budget to ensure its achievement or betterment
Quality
• Maintain a regular internal audit process including the accuracy of patient accounts and integrity of the General Ledger
• Agree annually the performance measures of the Finance department with the CEO and ensure their delivery
• Ensure all department staff, in particular the Cashiers, are trained in and behave in a customer centred manner
Marketing/External Relations
• Assist in pricing negotiations with insurers and corporate clients
• Make presentations to external groups on ‘the business of the hospital’ etc
Human Resources
• Overall management of staffing, staff employment, training and performance
• Undertake annual performance reviews of direct reports and seek to ensure the agreed development and training occurs
To apply you will have experience working as a Director of Finance. Any experience working in a hospital or healthcare grou is desirable but not essential.
You will also possess excellent communication skills and management ability with a proven track record within the health sector.
