The Development intern will provide administrative and staff support to develop and implement the American Lung Association’s (ALA) O2 Society Program in Houston. This group is newly created with the goal of engaging younger donors who have particularly interest in our clean air work. The ALA has been engaged in clean air efforts for over 40 years but our involvement in this important environmental issue is not well know, especially with young professionals.
The goal is to have 150 individuals join ALA’s O2 Society. There will be a series of social events and breakfast and learn seminar to provide educational and networking opportunities for members. There is a volunteer charged with leading our efforts and the committee.
The intern will report to the Regional VP of Development for the Houston metro area.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide staff support to O2 Society Chair and committee
• Working with the committee develop a recruitment plan
• Organize social and educational events (3 to 4 during time period)
• Personally recruit members
• Develop and Manage on-line social networking tools on Facebook
Other Considerations:
This 300 hour internship is unpaid; however the experience provides a wonderful opportunity to develop skills in nonprofit work while allowing the individual to utilize our online fundraising tool and of course provides an outstanding reference.

| Capacités Requises: |
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred
Must major in Nonprofit Leadership or related field and/or be a student in the American Humanics certificate program
Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent writing and communication skills
Must be able to submit and pass a background check
