Key Accountabilities:
• responsibility for achievement of service targets, financial outcome and quality issue
• set objectives for the medical team and ensure quality, productivity and utilisation of the team
• appraisal of Registered Medical Practitioners and Registered Nurses – Disability Analysts
• recruitment of medical staff against local business needs to nationally agreed standards
• liaison with VPP on areas of recruitment, training, approval and audit of contracted doctors
• maintaining and reviewing a skills register and supervising training and approval in conjunction with the Contract Medical Manager and national Medical Quality and Training Team
• ensuring specialist Registered Medical Practitioners activities are carried out – appointing and supporting medical trainers, strand leaders, auditors, Respiratory Disease specialists etc
• implementation and maintenance of Radiation protection provisions, where appropriate ensuring compliance with legal requirements and radiological procedures
• overview and support in dealing with second tier complaints and primary contact for serious complaints – Serious Complaints Investigation Team action
• responsibility for action on customer survey outcome and maintenance of medical standards of customer service
• responsible for medical staff compliance with conditions of service, disciplinary and capability issues
• management of expenditure, monitoring of leave applications and sickness absence
• input into national medical quality initiatives – liaison and contact point for Contract Medical Manager
• liaison with national medical authorities – GMC, MDDUS, BMA as necessary
• liaison with local medical profession and Health Authorities on medical matters as necessary
• input/support for transformation and business improvement projects
• provide medical advice and carry out medical examinations

| Capacités Requises: |
Proven Experience:
• Business Management experience
• a medical practitioner who has, since full registration, consolidated their clinical skills
• at least three years post registration experience, including one year in general practice and at least six months experience of psychiatry or rehabilitation/ occupational medicine
• OR five years post registration experience as a principal (or equivalent) in general practice
• experience in related disciplines which require the exercise of broadbased examination, investigation and diagnostic skills
• unconditional registration with the General Medical Council/ Nursing and Midwifery Council
• must be registered with the Medical Defence Union or similar body
