Purpose Of Position:
The International Sales Manager is a leadership position responsible for all sales related activity in assigned territories. Travel to and support sales agencies and end use customers in the assigned territories. May occasionally assist in managing other territories to cover for vacations, illness, or open positions.
Primary Tasks And Responsibilities:
• With direction and assistance from the home office, the International Sales and Service Manager recruits, interviews and hires new and replacement sales agencies. May establish multi-tier agencies in districts when applicable.
• Acts as the direct manager and is accountable for all sales and service functions of agencies in the assigned territories.
• Is actively involved in training of agency sales and service personnel. Assists in developing and modifying training programs to fit individual needs. Acts as the scheduler and coordinator of training schedules for assigned personnel. May occasionally assist in training of personnel from other districts.
• Provides direction, assists, and monitors in the development of systems to track and categorize customers according to importance and potential.
• Monitors competitive activity in assigned districts. Analyzes jobs won, lost, and abandoned ratios. Assists in developing strategies to improve ratios. Implements those strategies with agency management.
• Assists in marketing studies and surveys as required.
• Actively assists agency managers in developing detailed customer contact plans using importance and potential as a guide to frequency of contact. Monitors and evaluates results. Works with agency managers to adjust plans as required to maximize results.
• Maintains personal contact with key customers in assigned districts both in person or by telephone, fax, and mail.
• Directs agency activities and leads internal staff within the limits of corporate and departmental policies.
• Reviews and approves all expenses for assigned personnel. Monitors expenses as compared to plan. Initiates corrective action as required. Coordinates shared expense reimbursement items.
• As required, directs arrangements for shared participation in trade shows. Participates in planning and execution of sales meetings.
• Participates in the Marketing and Sales Department Management by Objectives Program.
• Submits weekly activity reports detailing activities in assigned territories.
