In cooperation with the NHS Trust in North West England, we are seeking Mid Grade Doctors for Accident and Emergency Department to take on permanent contracts from August 2009 (start date flexible).
The Trust has 3 Emergency Departments with total annual new patient attendances of 220,000.
The clinical duties will comprise: Active participation in the reception, initial diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients attending the Emergency Department.
Where appropriate the postholder will refer them to :
a) their general practitioner
b) to the appropriate specialist team for continuation of hospital care
c) to a clinic held within the Emergency Department
d) to a clinic held within the hospital
Provide support and supervision for those of FY2 and FY1 grade within the Emergency Department, taking the form of advice regarding diagnosis and treatment, the post holder will supervise the junior medical staff?s performance of procedures appropriate to their level of experience.
The post holder when required will conduct follow up clinics within the Emergency Department as directed by the Consultants.
Other duties may be allocated by the Consultants to ensure the proper care of patients.
A mentoring process and annual appraisal will be in place to make sure that the professional and personal development of the postholder are maintained. The consultants in Emergency Medicine will act as mentors who will meet with the postholder on a regular basis. |
| Capacités Requises: |
- Broad knowledge of emergency medicine.
- A minimum of 3 years full time experience at SHO grade (at least 1 year being in A&E medicine)
Note: The Doctor does not have to be registered with the GMC but will need to have full registration upon being accepted by the post.
