Key responsibilities include:
• Act as a focal point for any incidents with z/OS Connectivity implications
• Own, lead and present findings on z/OS Connectivity issues which the team has been assigned.
• Provide specialist connectivity support to Service management, production services, network service etc.
• Proactively attempt to prevent any clients being adversely impacted by z/OS Connectivity issues through proactive planning and incepting/ driving Service Improvement work
• Maintain software levels
• Evaluate, trail and install new software products
• To continue to develop new and existing network management facilities
• Delivering changes to the infrastructure in support of client infrastructure
• Provision of 24x7 standby support
• Out of hours support to support change implementations, problem investigation and resolution
• Proactively ensure that technical knowledge around z/OS and especially connectivity related technology is fully up to date with knowledge of latest industry trends
• Mentoring of team colleagues
This position is on 6 months contract further renewable to 1year and further convertible to permanent completely based on performance. Overseas candidates are welcome to apply regardless of VISA status.

| Capacités Requises: |
Knowledge and Expertise (Essential):
Fundamental understanding of z/OS
Good understanding of mainframe operating system tools: TSO, JCL, SDSF
IT service Management skills, ideally ITIL qualified
IT security awareness
Several years experience in mainframe connectivity including VTAM, SNA and TCPIP
High Level experience in connectivity related products such as: Netview and Session Managers
Preferred:
Deeper knowledge of z/OS either from an Operations or Support background
Experience in transactional & database systems such as CICS, IMS & DB2, Websphere
Previous application support / development experience would be advantageous
Familiar with 3745 / NCP’s
Knowledge of Assembler language |
