Seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals in the Atlanta-area for an unpaid internship with a small public relations firm. Candidates must be able to follow explicit instructions, work in a fast-paced environment, and be currently enrolled in an accredited liberal arts program to include communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related fields.
Interns MUST be autonomous AND team oriented with a great interest in the entertainment industry. We are looking for interns to participate in the writing of press releases and press kits, research new opportunities, assist with event coordination, write and update web content, as well as take part in team planning activities and various basic administrative duties. A personal computer and consistent access to the internet is a must. Interns will work remotely and will need to regularly communicate via cell phone, email, and instant messenger. Internship will last 8-12 weeks depending on project availability.
Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ambition, entrepreneurial spirit, thick skin, and a great sense of humor is necessary to work in this industry
Neat physical appearance and transportation as you may have the opportunity to meet with clients
Schedule flexibility: Must be able to work night, evening, and/or weekend events as needed
Must have knowledge of the internet and be intimately familiar with the workings of social media sites
Experience securing press coverage preferred but not necessary
Video editing experience is a definite plus!
