1. Department Description/Function:
The Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds Group Quality Assurance department’s primary function is to provide and execute testing strategies to support most if not all of the areas of the company. Quality assurance runs various testing forms including adhoc, blackbox, greybox, and high level performance testing. Their main objectives include delivering quality products and functionalities of ongoing projects as well as upcoming deliverables.
2. Intern’s Principle Responsibilities:
• Test applications for errors (both creative and technical), evaluate user interface, and ensure applications are functioning as expected.
• Report bugs by documenting in various ticketing systems operated internally and externally
• Manage and complete work load assigned by team lead
• Work in a team environment by collaborating with other team members when necessary
• Reproduce customer reported errors and problem solve issues by working with programmers to debug and then test to verify successful fixes.
• Take notes in meetings regarding QA expectations on projects to then review with supervisor.
3. Anticipated Projects for Interns During the Semester:
Interns will be working on Petpet Park, Key Quest, and Neopets.com throughout the semester.
4. Special Skills/Requests:
• High degree of computer literacy.
• Interest for computer games, MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online Game), or game websites.
• Good oral and written communication skills highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people preferred.
5. Requirements:
This is a non-paid program. To be eligible students must be enrolled in a credited internship course for the semester of the internship, and must present proof of that course credit for semester of your internship. Students must be 18 years of age or older, in college (freshman or above), and be available to intern 16-30 hours per week. Internships listed above are based in Glendale California.
