District Department of the Environment (DDOE) is a one-stop-shop for environmental programs and services that are on the minds of consumers daily. DDOE programs are designed to facilitate cleaner air and water, green our neighborhoods and building space, and assist with the management of hazardous and toxic waste disposal. We have challenging opportunity for an innovative and motivated Environmental Protection Specialist that is interested in working for the District of Columbia Government.
Job Vacancy #14366 - Located in the Natural Resources Administration, Watershed Protection Division, Planning and Restoration Branch. The incumbent is responsible for executing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Clean Water State Revolving Funds (CWSRF) green reserve stimulus projects for the Division. The position involves project management, oversight of grants, memorandum of agreements, and other inter-agency agreements to ensure projects are implemented in a timely manager and deliverables are achieved. The incumbent should have an understanding of innovative ways to treat strormwater runoff from technologies such as green roofs, rain gardens, cisterns, etc. The incumbent should also have the ability to work with a diverse group of partners, and the ability to communicate with citizens and educate them about stormwater management. A detailed-oriented individual with strong administrative and project management skills is required as the position will be responsible for weekly documenting and reporting on progress of projects both in writing and through a computer database. Knowledge of hydrology, environmental science, environmental engineering, forestry, horticulture, or stormwater management is useful.

Basic Requirements
A college degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or other related field. Two to five (2 to 5) years experience performing environmental work or an equivalent combination of equivalent combination of equivalent training, education, and experience is required |
