We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Career Associate in our Public Finance practice group.
The public finance practice group works with clients that include state and local government entities, underwriters, private borrowers, credit providers, investment bankers and Indian tribes to finance public projects or programs with municipal debt. These projects serve an important public purpose. Examples include a broad range of infrastructure, cultural, sports, transportation, utility, housing, health care, education, and other projects.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review official statements (equivalent of a corporate securities prospectus) with senior attorney supervision
• Verify accuracy of official statement content, perform due diligence
• Take comments on official statements, revise and edit
• Perform journalistic (as opposed to purely legal) research and fact gathering for official statements, business development efforts
• Support senior attorneys in preparation and review of principal financing documents
• Support attorneys and paralegals in preparation and management of legal adoption proceedings (resolutions, notices, hearings, etc.)
• Support attorneys and paralegals in managing and coordinating legal documents (e.g., notices, publications, agenda deadlines)

| Capacités Requises: |
• JD from an accredited law school required
• Licensure from at least one jurisdiction required
• Experience and/or degree in Journalism a plus
• Excellent writing skills required
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to manage a process and meet deadlines required
• Demonstrated journalistic research and fact verification skills required
• Proven judgment and decision making skills required
• Ability to travel to firm offices and client locations as needed
• Flexibility with schedule to accommodate attorneys and clients in various geographic locations
• Innate curiosity to understand the inner working of different subjects
• Adaptability to being remotely supervised by attorneys in other practice offices.
• Strong interpersonal and client-service skills |
