Hospital Description:
The client is a JCI accredited hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE and is the largest regional healthcare organization that specializes in OB/GYN and Neonatology. The hospital does over 10,000 deliveries annually and its existing outpatient department experiences over 300 outpatient visits daily.
Job Title:
Practice Manager
Job Summary:
• Responsible for the daily operations including practice, fiscal and human resource management of the community based outpatient health centre
• Works effectively with providers and other staff to provide optimal customer service, maximizing operational efficiency, assuring financial viability and rendering high quality health care services
• Responsible for fostering a positive relationship with the local community served by the health centre
Educational Requirements And Expertise:
• Bachelor degree in business, public or healthcare management or other healthcare related field; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in healthcare/ambulatory care setting with experience in managing a physician practice
• Western trained and experienced leader, preferably from the United States
• Vast knowledge and experience working with insurance based systems
• Since the healthcare organization specializes exclusively in maternity and women`s health and taking in consideration the cultural and religious beliefs and practices in the region, we prefer to recruit a female leader for this position

Required Competencies:
• Extensive knowledge of practice management; resource utilization; budgeting, billing and reimbursement; and regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, problem solving and negotiation skills
• Excellent customer service skills in a high volume setting
• Demonstrates cultural awareness and ability to interact with diverse groups of people
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal; Arabic language skills preferred
• Proficient in word processing, database software and electronic patient information system
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Operations/Practice Management
• Provides oversight and directs daily operations of outpatient health centre.
• Responsible for developing appropriate registration, scheduling and administrative policies and processes to assure effective and efficient operations.
• Develops, revises, secures approval, and implements policies and procedures for practice.
• Consults with and manages staff schedules to ensure proper resource allocations for room assignments and clinical space ensuring adequate staff coverage and maximum productivity.
• Serves as liaison with other departments and services at the hospital to coordinate services, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care.
• Investigates, resolves, and documents resolution of patient complaints liaising with Patient Affairs, Medical Affairs and Clinical Risk Manager as appropriate to ensure complete follow up.
• Responsible for managing the overall marketing activities of the practice.
• Provides information to physicians, community groups, and referral agencies about programs and services provided by centre.
• Ensures practice is managed according to established standards and adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Prepares and participates in site visits from national and international regulatory and accrediting bodies.
• Prioritizes and organizes work to meet changing priorities and communicates decisions to appropriate management.
Fiscal Management
• Participates in the development of annual operating and capital budgets while monitoring actual expenditures against the budget.
• Coordinates procurement of supplies and equipment and maintains appropriate inventory management and budgetary controls.
• Continually reviews and implements practices to effect cost reductions and increase revenue.
• Complies with the hospital’s/government health service authority’s financial policies and procedures related to cash collections and reconciliation and ensures necessary cash controls are monitored and adhered to.
• Oversees and manages the billing and collection processes and liaises with insurance companies and third party payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Human Resources Management
• Manages staff and has responsibility for the performance management and resulting recommendations for actions for the outpatient health centre.
• Recruits, orients, trains, assign, schedules, direct and supervise departmental staff.
• Collaborates with the appropriate Nursing or Medical Director as appropriate for issues of professional compliance.
Information Management
• Ensures effective utilization of fully integrated electronic health records (EHR) and supervises maintenance of medical records and files.
• Understands and utilizes databases to aid in the management of the physician practice.
Salary Range (total Compensation Package)
• $120 - $130 USD
