Job Title Construction Risk & Insurance Assistant Manager
Reporting To Risk Manager
Department Procurement
Purpose of Position To assist Risk Manager with supporting the business on construction risk and insurance issues

Qualifications Required
Civil Engineer or equivalent
Institute of Risk Management or Insurance Institute part qualification with progress to full qualification
Experience Required
Minimum 5 years experience in an insurer/ insurance broker or client insurance department in construction insurance
Auxiliary Requirements
Fluent in English (Read, Write and Speak).

Duties & Responsibilities Assisting Risk Manager with the following tasks:
1. Control TDIC’s 5 year Owner Controlled Insurance Programme’ (‘OCIP’), including:
a. Liaising with TDIC business units to keep abreast of construction projects
b. Keep insurers appraised on changes in material facts relevant to the insurance programme
c. Identify and submit project underwriting information requirements to brokers/insurers
d. Controlling insurer survey programme – participating in insurer site surveys, following up with project teams on requirements/ recommendations
e. Ensure compliance with insurance policy conditions and provisions
f. Develop awareness of the ‘OCIP’ within TDIC and externally appointed project managers/ contractors
2. Develop TDIC risk management standards for contractors and provide assistance to the project teams in implementation of same.
3. Assist TDIC in writing/amending indemnity and insurance provisions in construction contracts
4. Maintain cordial and positive relationships with external service providers, eg risk consultants, insurance brokers and insurers
5. Claims administration including submission of claim information, attending claim surveys and assist with remedial measures
6. Assist project teams with budgeting for insurance costs
7. Administer premium payments efficiently and ensure payment dates are adhered to
8. Maintain filing system of construction risk and insurance related documentation and outstanding lists
9. Check insurer/broker documentation reflects TDIC’s requirements before accepting them
10. Prepare monthly reports of activity for Risk Manager
