The Neuro/Renal ICU Stepdown unit. This is a 38-bed unit with approximately 51 FTEs consisting of the Nurse Manager, 4 Assistant Nurse Managers, a Nurse Clinician and a staff of RNs, Patient Care Techs and Telemetry Techs.
The following shifts are available:
7a-7p and 7p-7a
Enjoy a Staff that works (3) 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, and the priviledge of being able to schedule your own shifts.
Our client uses computer documentation, so we are only seeking RNs with excellent computer skills.
This is a Level III trauma center and Primary Stroke Center.
The Neuro/Renal ICU Stepdown RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
Assess, plan and evaluate patient care needs.
Carry out physician orders.
Administer prescribed meds, change dressings, clean wounds, monitor vitals.
Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.
Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate while utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instruct and educate patient and patient\\\`s families.
Assess and coordinate patient\\\`s discharge planning needs with other members of the healthcare team.
Provide age and culturally appropriate care.
Orient and mentor new staff members as needed.
Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

| Capacités Requises: |
Required Job Qualifications include:
Current licensure as an RN in state of Texas or be willing to obtain.
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Minimum one year ICU Stepdown experience required.
Neuro/Renal experience is preferred but not required.
Must posess excellent Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment is a must.
Must be able to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds. |
