| Description: |
This position is for a highly experienced Construction Manager to work on our projects in Morocco. You must have a good understanding of both written and spoken French and English.
We need Construction Manager for Buildings villas and apartments ( high standing villas, palaces, and high standing apartments)
We would like to have someone with structural engineering background, with solid knowledge in architecture and FF&E for high standing villas and palaces.
The candidate must a university graduate with a Master degree in structural engineering, with minimum 10 to 15 years experience, good writing French and English skills.

Construction Managers
Ø Report to the Project Manager
· Review and approve the contractors’ key personnel;
· Develop and agree site use proposals (Contractor’s Area, as defined by the General Requirements of the Contractor document) in conjunction with the Contractor;
· Supervise contractor mobilization and any expansion of the Contractor`s Area in compliance with Client requirements and / or land use approvals;
· Agree the precise location of the contractors’ facilities (including sheds, lay down, fabrication yards, logistics areas, plant maintenance area etc.) on a time based arrangement;
· Manage the erection, relocation, maintenance and dismantling of temporary fences and hoardings;
· Coordinate the staging of site activities with contractors and agree appropriate access into, out of and through the working areas;
· Review and confirm no objection to the contractors’ overall strategy for material handling, including the most appropriate locations for tower cranes (in conjunction with the Supervising Engineer);
· Coordinate with the Design Manager to define the design documents and level of detail required for each new procurement package;
· Review design documents to identify possible procurement savings and / or constructability issues;
· Review the construction stage consent application and approval process;
· Identify and monitor the status of construction related NOCs and assist the Contractor in obtaining permits and approvals (as necessary);
· Ensure Contractor’s possession of relevant Building Permits, letters of undertakings and/or Taking Over Certificates as necessary for site operations;
· Manage construction activities and provide general interface coordination between contractors;
· Monitor progress and site resources;
· Resolve conflicts between consultants, site supervision and contractors;
· Monitor and manage the performance of Technical Engineers and contractors and advise the Project Manager of key issues;
· Ensure that Technical Engineers is carrying out key tasks such as:
· Review of the contractors’ construction methodologies;
· Ensuring the contractors abide with agreed methodologies;
· Reviewing and approving contractors’ materials submittals in accordance with approved design documents;
· Reviewing and confirming no objection to Contractor’s shop drawings;
· Issuing Site Instructions as required (within limits of authority);
· Responding to contractor generated Requests for Information (RFIs) related to project management
· Reviewing the contractors’ temporary works design proposals and confirming no objection;
· Reviewing the contractors’ method statements for any staging issues or potential overloading of structures;
· Reviewing and approving As Built documentation for accuracy;
· Ensure effective communication between all project parties;
· Review fitness for purpose;
· Attend programme meetings chaired by the (Senior) Project Manager;
· Chair progress meetings with the contractors;
· Assist the Project Control Manager in the preparation of monthly progress reports;
· Assist the Project Manager in assessing change requests from contractors;
· Approve any daywork costs and submit signed records to the Project Manager;
· Assist in the preparation and update of the Risk Register;
· Implement QA procedures and ensure the delivery team understands the requirements;
· Adopt a leading role with respect to the Quality and HS&E procedures and provide assistance to the team if required;
· Conduct regular quality audits of consultants, contractors and delivery team;
· Ensure the implementation of effective waste management protocols and manage waste consolidation and recycling strategies in conjunction with the contractors;
· Identify required changes to temporary site infrastructure and advise the Contractor;
· Organise and chair regular HS&E meetings with contractors to discuss current issues;
· Identify HS&E non-compliances;
· Respond to pollution events;
· Lead the team in performing final inspections of the Works;
· Coordinate and ensure the timely demobilization of contractors. |
