Experienced in all aspects of AI from semen collection to processing and insemination. Must be aware of proper sanitation of boars and sows before and after breeding, Must also be aware of and skilled at the training of junior boars in both AI and natural breeding. Must be skilled with the microscope examination for evaluation of boar semen. Must perform all necessary injections in the gestation cycle and medical evaluation of sows, gilts and boars for antibiotic treatment. Must be able to detect heat in the sows and gilts to determine breeding readiness. Inspect and select replacement gilts from farm stock, monthly. |
