| The South Metropolitan Area Health Service (SMAHS) is the fastest growing health service in Western Australia. SMAHS oversees comprehensive tertiary, secondary and primary-level health care services across 16 local government regions. The service is undergoing dynamic growth, including the planning and building of the State's leading tertiary facility, the 600-bed Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch and the upgrade to General Hospital status of Rockingham/Kwinana District Hospital and Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital. Currently the SMAHS consists of two major teaching hospitals (Royal Perth Hospital in central Perth and Fremantle Hospital in the coastal area of Fremantle), five other hospitals (in Rockingham, Mandurah, Armadale, Bentley and East Fremantle) and comprehensive Population Health and Mental Health Services. Under the planned visionary changes SMAHS will provide job security, state-of-the art health services and exciting, increasing employment opportunities in a work environment where we understand the need for work/life balance.
South Metropolitan Mental Health Service provides comprehensive mental health care in three program areas:

„h Adults (18 - 64 years)
„h Seniors (65 years and over)
Services are provided through community, outpatient and inpatient services.
