The Opportunity:
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Field Application Engineer position located in Melbourne, Australia. If you are looking for an opportunity to utilize your background in protection of electric power system practices, enjoy international travel and provide excellent customer service to the Utility and Engineering firms, this may be the position for you!
SEL is a global manufacturer that provides products and services for the protection, control, automation, integration, communications and metering of electric power systems for industrial and utility markets and have an immediate need requirement for a Field Application Engineer.
You must be eligible to live and work in the Australia. If you have a minimum of five years of protective relay applications and protection of electric power systems experience with the utility and/or engineering firms.
Field Application Engineer
Responsibilities:- Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
- Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software and literature.
- Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of all SEL products.
- Teach in training schools for customers and SEL personnel.
- Maintain customer database for customer application information.
- Follow and improve marketing, sales and engineering quality procedures.
Qualifications:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in protection of electric power systems
- Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
- Experience with protective relay applications and industry practices
- Ability to travel
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience using SEL products
