The Opportunity:
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Sales Engineer located in Madrid, Spain. If you are looking for an opportunity to develop sales strategies and introduce state of the art products and equipment to the European markets, then this may be the position for you!
SEL is a global manufacturer that provides products and services for the protection, control, automation, integration, communications and metering of electric power systems and have an immediate need requirement for a Sales Engineer to be based in Madrid, Spain.
You must be eligible to live and work in Spain to apply for this position. If you have experience in outside technical sales, willing to travel and develop the European market with presentations and meetings with potential customers for Schweitzer Engineering. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
Sales Engineer
Responsibilities:- Introduce SEL products and services to new and existing customers through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telecommunications contact.
- Assist customers with purchase order preparation by providing SEL product configuration, SSD work scope, and selling price information.
- Develop 12-month product order forecasts on a quarterly basis.
- Plan and execute strategies to achieve breakthrough orders with un-served customers.
- Identify and perform activities to meet/exceed forecasted orders.
- Deliver customer service and informal training through telecommunications contact and site visits
- Contribute to product specifications and literature
- Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of all SEL products.
- Provide training for customers and SEL personnel.
- Maintain customer database for customer sales and application information.
- Follow and improve marketing, sales, and engineering quality processes.
Qualifications:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Three years experience in technical outside sales
- Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to travel up to 60% internationally
- Experience in traveling internationally
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience using SEL products.
- Possess speaking and reading skills in Portuguese.
