| Job Beschreibung: |
Job Summary Strategic development of the Nursing Department within the context of hospital as well as within plans for acquiring affiliate organizations. Collaborates with executive partners in overall Hospital directional developments. Is responsible for overall leadership and administration of the Nursing Dept including its structure, foundations, processes, planning and integration with hospital-wide programs and services. Integral member of all Hospital executive decision-making processes, converting decisions and corporate initiatives into Departmental actions plans by coordinating same through the Nursing Administration Committee. Monitors and oversees progress on developments and operational issues primarily through the Deputy Director – Nursing (DDNS) and Div. Directors supplemented by PI and managerial reports, shift handovers and observations from walkabouts.
Duties And Responsibilities:
• Participates in the Executive and Sr. Management meetings on Hospital service development and priorities, resource utilization, systems, policy and care systems , as well as development of the management strategies for implementation of approved objectives.
• Translates the Hospital’s strategic plan into actions for the Nursing Department.
• Provides administrative direction for the Nursing Service and the establishment & periodic review of Nursing philosophy, strategic initiatives, goals and objectives, standards, policies and procedures, and the structures that support their achievement including appropriate resource use and allocation..
• Oversees the development of responsible manpower plans that are and recruitment strategies for approved positions, including evaluation of selection methods ands systems.
• Establishes and oversees the system for coordinated development, and approval of all Department DPs and IPs periodically reviewing the system for effectiveness.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility within the parameters and guidelines provided by hospital with systems that coordinate requests for operating and capital budgets.
• Oversees the development of program proposals, and assessment of them impact for Nursing of proposed changes in service, procedure, practice, policy, or changing demands from patients or other Departments.
• Oversees the PI program, its implementation and evaluation seeing that it is in keeping with the overall Hospital program and uses PI principles, appropriate indicators, and responds to findings.
• Provides a means for studying and evaluating nursing trends, practices technologies for their applicability to improving quality of nursing services.
• Guides and provides counsel to Nursing education programs, its evaluation, services, and direction.
• Appoints monitors and evaluates direct reports and monitors and reviews the performance of all senior nursing personnel.
• Mentors new Senior nursing staff with regard to corporate developments and their impact on Nursing and specific divisions and assigns colleague mentors for operational orientation.
• Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to operational needs raised identified in the normal course of Departmental business, keeping the Executive Director apprized as necessary.
• Promotes excellence in-patient care, effective interdisciplinary working relations, and a collaborative planning process for the ongoing development of clinical services at all level of the Hospital.
• Participates in, and/or assigns Nursing representatives, various interdepartmental/multidisciplinary Medical or Hospital committee
• Maintains own professional development.
• Provides regular feedback to the Executive Director on Departmental affairs.
• Performs any other task and duties appropriate to his/her realm of knowledge, skill, capability and experience as required by the Executive Director (or designate) |
| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Holds, on hire, a current Nursing license of good standing in country of origin.
• Master’s degree required in a Health or related field.
• Eligibility for Saudi licensure is essential as is maintenance of same during tenure.
• Proven track record in executive level experience with a portfolio that includes Nursing in a regional or teaching Hospital of at least 400 beds
• A varied background that reflects a growth in both depth and breadth of clinical influence is preferred.
• For MOH purposes, there must be no break in experience in 10 years immediately pre-hire.
• Experience in both management and education preferred.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Computer literate and internet knowledgeable.
• Evidence of being current in nursing and health care affairs.
• Experience in multicultural environment is an asset.
• Experience with hospital accreditation processes is preferred.
* Position requires the fitness & flexibility required at times late hours and movement throughout a large facility.
