Responsibilities:
- Lead projects to reliability and cost of highly-sophisticated product:
- Design and process optimization.
- Partnership with development and assembly teams.
Work tasks:
Conduct electronic printed board review and report findings with respect to (reliability, manufacturability, etc).
Conduct projects targeting product improvement with respect to reliability and cost. This may require use of Failure Analysis equipment.
Assess and develop contract manufacturer capabilities (eg audit).
Investigate the use of new technologies for Seismic application.
Join plant-wide team to develop electronics design rules.

What’s most interesting with this position :
- Key position within the Design For eXcellence (DFX) group. The engineer will work in partnership with our internal design team and external electronics manufacturers to improve reliability and cost of our highly-sophisticated products.
- Key areas of work will be design and process optimization.
- This DFX position is multi-faceted and offers a mix of hands-on experiment (use of x-ray, testing on environment-test machines), supplier visit, review with designers, etc… The scope of the projects range from short-term specific efforts to longer term definition of design rules and validation of new technologies.
- The engineer will evolve in an international, pluri-disciplinary environment

Important skills to succeed in the job:
- Technical education and/or background (electronics engineering).
- Experience from (medium) volume manufacturing of electronic assemblies.
- Good knowledge of IPC standards related to both design and assembly.
- Hands-on and fast-learner (job will include operation of x-ray, microscope, and environment test machine)
- Good analytical skills.
IT-competence:
- Generally good IT knowledge.
Language:
- English, oral and written, fluently
Education:
- Master degree in Electronics or Manufacturing/Production with experience in Electronics environment.
Experience required:
- 3-5 years of experience within manufacturing of electronics assemblies: design and/or production line and/or quality.
- No requirement for managerial experience
