We are looking for an ARCHITECT who has a strong background in J2EE, and Java development. Must have significant expertise in highly scalable application architecture for critical healthcare information software for this top healthcare industry leader.

Architect
** Requires: Extensive knowledge expertise in J2EE large scale systems. Outstanding communication skills.
** Healthcare or medical device experience.
Develops software systems, applications, firmware, and or provides software systems testing and validation in support of R&D and or Manufacturing Process Engineering. Performs any of the following:
Applications: Responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modification of local, network internet-related computer programs for commercial or end user applications (i.E. Materials management, financial management, HRIS, or desktop applications products). May interface with users to define system requirements and or necessary modifications. Product Applications: Responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modification of real-time applications. Requires knowledge of real-time operating systems and software. Work often involves knowledge of modeling and simulation software. Web services application using JProbe and PerformaSure a plus. May interface with users to define system requirements and or necessary modifications.
Firmware: Responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of firmware applications. Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems. Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design. Internal Systems: Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software programs for internal technical end users. May include software tools, utilities, databases and internet-related tools, etc. Position requires knowledge of hardware compatibility and or hardware design. Programmers who are developing applications for technical end users should be matched here. Systems Verification: Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for software products. Key Responsibilities: Assumes principle leadership role in functional area by using technical expertise and knowledge to support new technology and or new market opportunities. Determines emerging technological trends by reviewing scientific data, and communicating with colleagues on scientific boards in order to obtain information and resources for future Guidant needs. Conducts research and or manages major programs, reviews technical journals and interfaces with suppliers and vendors.
Required Job Skills: Bachelors degree plus 15+ years of related work experience with a complete understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred. Demonstrates extensive understanding of some core eng. Skills, or extensive in some and solid in all eng. Skills. Recognized as an expert in the field and provides technical expertise advice that will further company-wide projects and initiatives. Engages in critical and complex design activities with independence. Uses knowledge of CRM and competitor's products to influence corporate level decisions. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: 15 years of hands on industry experience in a similar environment. Previous medical device experience is also preferred.
