Currently we have an opening for a Senior Software Engineer in our Factory Solutions office in Buffalo Grove, IL.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Software Enhancements and Modifications: Add new features and fixes to different modules as scheduled through the MR system. Prepare specifications for requirements, design and implementation. Provide software architecture design and system functional blocks specification to developers and ensure high levels of quality. Participate on projects by developing the technical design, write code, assist with testing, developing technical documentation, conduct technical training, and managing technical implementation tasks.
2.Process Management: Ensure that the software development best practices guidelines are followed and met accordingly. Ensure a systems development methodology is followed and key components such as design, testing, code reviews, and technical documentation are completed for each project 3.Client End User Relations: Communicate with customer globally in gathering requirements specifications for new features and enhancements to the product as well as to set expectations on the timelines for implementation. Interact with other internal teams in providing both technical and non-technical interfaces. Represent the company's core values, core purpose, and envisioned future. Mentor individual development staff Excellent communication and presentation skills to various audiences
4.Project Management: Prepare and review software development project work plans including project tasks and descriptions, technical implementation plan, technical resources by task, project schedule and project estimate. Oversee technical implementation of all of the company's software development projects, either directly or by providing support to another technical manager.
5.Technical Services: Act as the technical liaison for product related issues, and the technology gatekeeper for the product to ensure that all architectural modifications are done in accordance with guidelines.
6.Quality Assurance: Interface with the QA team and identify key focus areas for testing and validation. Provide input in testing process for new software releases.
Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred or equivalent experience in closely related field.
•Five or more years related experience in Software Engineering.
•5+ years experience using Microsoft Visual C++/MFC
•3+ years experience using Microsoft .Net framework (C#).
•Experience in SMT/MES software development is preferred. Key Competencies •Extensive knowledge of the customer support requirements.
•Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to quickly build and maintain rapport with others.
•Strong technical analysis skills required.
•Ability to travel occasionally, often on short notice.
