Our client is an international consulting company offering project management and integrated engineering services in the areas of Civil, Infrastructure, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Transportation and Environmental Engineering - delivered seamlessly under one roof. The Group currently employs in excess of 2000 permanent staff in 22 offices across the globe.
Degree in Structural Engineering BE (Civil), M.E (Civil), BSc or MSc,
Preferably Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer.
Ability to manage a group of project teams.
Minimum 15 years post graduate experience specifically in different forms of high rise structures
Ability on all form of high rise structural design components
Strong communication organisational skills.
Should be able to independently initiate viable concept and preliminary designs especially for tall buildings.
Principally aware of computer design packages such as ETABS, SAFE, Robot & Prokon.
Self-motivated and team player
Should be able to interface with Clients as and when required
Should be able to manage bids as & when required for mono-discipline projects
Responsible for a large team within the Structural Department with multiple projects progressing simultaneously
Oversee preparation of Concept and Preliminary designs
Oversee arithmetical checks and independent design review of other engineers’ designs
Resource allocation & monitoring for the designated team
Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work of his/her team
Responsible for ensuring that engineering work is completed within programme.
Give site backup on technical/design issues where required
To continuously monitor the recent developments in the field of structural engineering particularly the high rise design by reviewing the publications, codes of practice, attending seminars and publishing papers internally and externally to promote their findings.
Assist with other delegated duties such as resource allocation, recruitment, writing technical memos, identify training needs & organising them carrying annual appraisals, etc.
Report on any significant changes made during designs or construction which would require additional fees.
Liaise with local authorities and Clients
Assist with preparation of offers as directed • Attend Bid Review Meetings as & when requested
