Distance Learning Technician
Essential functions: Install/maintain videoconferencing systems and audio/video equipment. Assess condition of equipment on a regular basis. Provide training for end users on Video equipment. Establish videoconferencing connections and troubleshoot before conference dates. Assist users prior to and during videoconferences. Work with ITS on all network connections, IP address configurations and network issues. Follows all Network security policies. Perform ongoing maintenance/upgrade to equipment and recommend replacement equipment. Document all processes, configurations and procedures pertaining to the video conferencing and conferences. Special projects as assigned by supervisor.
Hours: M-F 8-5; must be willing to drive to remote locations and work extended hours as needed. Must be able to lift, carry or move equipment.
Salary: commensurate with experience

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Requirements: Associate’s degree in telecommunications technology with emphasis on videoconferencing systems or equivalent experience. Two years experience working as a distance learning technician in telecommunications or related technical field. Experience with H.320 and/r H.323 protocol and Madge Access Switch or Cisco and/or the ability to set up and install computer equipment and software. Must have experience with videoconferencing systems and be able to install and maintain videoconference endpoints, MCUs, and gateways. A working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and use of H.323 technology is required. Preferred: experience with Polycom equipment and experience with video or other media production.
