This leading Organisation is seeking an IT Security Specialist for a full-time role based in Qatar.
The Specialist monitors the day-to-day operations using in-place security solutions. The Specialist is primarily responsible for the identification, investigation and resolution of security breaches detected.
Other tasks include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The Specialist is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security objectives, and to actively work towards achieving the objectives.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
1 Participate in the planning, design and implementation of enterprise security architecture, under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager.
2 Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors
3 Maintain up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (i.E., security tools) or not (i.E., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.).
4 Review logs and reports of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control (i.E., security tools) or not (i.E., workstations, servers, network devices, etc.). Interpret the implications of that activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution.
5 Ensure secure E-Communication environment, and follow international health security standards (eg. HIPAA & GCI).
6 Participate in investigations into problematic activity.
7 Provides technical support to users with different levels of IT knowledge and competencies.
8 Ensures that all IT components comply with industry standards.
9 Implements and monitors security at all levels.
10 Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
11 Provides user training and written guidelines and instructions to support relevant user groups in the use of the IT systems.
12 Trains and advises other IS support staff.
13 Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures) under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager
14 Works closely as part of a team with other departments to analyse requirements or solve problems, plan and implement future IT developments.
15 Monitors the use of systems, including the web by employees, and ensures the smooth running of internal networks.
16 Assumes any other responsibilities as directed by the Infrastructure Manager.
To apply you will have a Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering Diploma (or equivalent). A Minimum 3 years experience in IT Security, preferably with healthcare and hospital systems with knowledge of operating systems including Unix, Linux and Microsoft
