This leading Global Organisation are seeking Crane Operators for a full time role in Qatar.
In the role you will be responsible for operating cranes of varying jib length, type and handling capacities to load, unload or move sea containers to or from jetty, trucks, ship or barge.
Carries out regular, routine checking on cranes and associated hoisting equipment such as boom, slings, spreaders, and brake to ensure safe working conditions at all times. Cranes currently used in jetty for handling 20’ and 40’ containers are two shore cranes (Caillard crane and Reggiane crane) and two mobile stackers( Fantuzzi reach stackers).
In addition to operate any containers handling equipments that will be installed in the future (e.g. Straddle carrier).
Work on shift at container terminal, arranging container loading and un-loading to ship, arranging container movement at container terminal according instruction through YMS radio and screen monitor.
Know cranes well and understand its functions and limitations as well as each crane’s particular operating characteristics. Understands correct meaning of all notes and warnings and be able to calculate or determine the crane’s actual net capacity for every possible configuration of the machine and familiar with the crane’s load chart.
To apply for the role you will possess Completion of Secondary (12 years) education with written English and computer literacy.
Other requirements include:
• Five years experience operating heavy cranes, and working on container terminals.
• Valid heavy crane equipment license.
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge related to cranes.
• Ability to follow verbal and Written instructions.
• Good eyesight for visual distance judgments and comfortable working at heights.
• Safety consciousness.
In return you will receive a TAX FREE salary between $35k - $38k USD per annum. You will also receive free fully furnished housing, Transportation, Annual flights for you and family, paid Schooling for any children. Other benefits include annual salary increment, medical coverage, insurance coverage, generous annual leave entitlement.
