Job Position Title:
EHS and Hydraulic Manager (Environment, Health, safety, Fire Protection, Plumbing) position comparable with present grade SM1
Reports To: MEP Engineering Manager
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide expert advice in the area of fire protection and the laws, codes and regulations affecting environment, health, fire prevention, fire and buildings safety, plumbing and drainage systems and infrastructure. In all phases of project development to project teams, as required.
• Performing due-diligence reviews and audits in the field of the expertise required for the job position.
• Maintain active involvement in value engineering process through detailed technical project reviews and analyses.
• Review and assessment of projects in accordance with engineering standards, departmental guidelines and policies.
• Evaluate design impacts and requirements related to building systems and utilities
• Research, collect and create data base for all applicable and relevant codes of practice.
• Identify and research innovative design and construction tools and technologies.
• Drafting and implementing engineering guidelines and policies
• Ensure incorporation of best practices in building design relevant to FP, plumbing and drainage systems.
• Maintain high professional standards through continuing education and skill improvement activities.
Qualification & Skills:
A. Education and Experience:
• Strong preference for post-graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or comparable Building Systems Engineering.
• Minimum 12-15 years of work experience.
B. Specific Knowledge/ Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles
• Extensive consulting experience in the area of Building residential, commercial, retail and industrial systems and applications.
• Extensive experience in high-rise buildings systems design and construction practice.
• Expert knowledge of leading Building systems computer applications and software packages.
• Extensive knowledge of international engineering codes and standards.
• High degree of competence in oral communication skills and writing technical reports in English.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills in communicating highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical staff in a personable and professional manner and to clearly write in a technical and non-technical format.
• Ability to prepare and present Building systems functional concepts to project teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability for Active Listening, Active Learning, Critical Thinking, Complex Problem Solving and Troubleshooting,
• Ability for Deductive Reasoning, Systems Analysis and sound Judgment and Decision Making.
