Job Description: 3G Optimisation Engineer
The 3G Optimisation Engineer’s responsibilities are to:
• Responsible for the optimisation of the whole 3G UTRAN network.
• Monitor, analyze and provide suggestions for improving the performance.
• Traffic Observation, Service Quality measurements, its analysis & preventive action.
• Receive problems from drive test & provide suggestions to solve it.
• Provide quick temporary solution to prevent service loss in emergency situations.
• TO ensure that all the radio KPI’s are within the agreed limits.
The candidate shall have the following basic competence:
1. University education within Telecommunication, Information Technology, Electronics or similar.
2. Telecommunication O&M experience and good knowledge of mobile telephony systems, GSM & UMTS.
3. The expert must be able to Support 3G network and must be skilled with advance troubleshooting techniques in relative domain
4. Experience with CPP Platform based UTRAN Nodes (RNC/RBS/RXI) and good understanding of IP over ATM Transport Networks.
5. Experience of RAN architecture, implementation & traffic cases.
6. Good knowledge of UMTS Standards, 3GPP WCDMA air-interface & signalling protocols.
7. Configuration changes of Wireless RAN products including RNC, NODE B, RXI.
8. Basic knowledge in the following areas: TDMA/GSM/GPRS Core Network.
9. The expert must be able to handle problems, faults and other issues arising from 2G and 3G integration.
10. Good command of English language, oral and written (Arabic is a plus).
11. Good cultural awareness.
