3g Oss System Administrator, NOM.
Description
To achieve and maintain a high level Operation for the whole O&M 3G network, and ensuring high quality performance for all technical employees working within STC, and ensuring the highest possible level of whole STC technical staff satisfaction when using the 3G OSS system.
Provide effective and sufficient technical support for Saudi Telecom Company STC, and continually seek for quality improvements within the NOM project.
ResponsibilitIES
STS and I/O Troubleshooting for both [ IOG20/APG40 ] nodes.
Integrating new 3G Core nodes (i.E.) [ Media Gateway , MSC Server ] with
OSS.
Participating in the design phase of OSS, and taking into consideration different Dept.’s feedback while preparing the requirements.
Integrating new 3G Radio nodes (i.E.) [ RNC , Node B’s ] with
OSS.
Performing different tunings [S/W,H/W] for OSS management systems.
Integrating E/// OSS with other 3PP.
Performing a lot of integrations between management systems and other nodes in the network.
Installation and maintenance of Solaris OS on Sun Microsystems H/W.
Aministrate and manage Ericsson OSS Applications.
Perform all UNIX system administration tasks.
Monitor OSS Server performance and availability.
Creating & Maintaining OSS user Accounts.
Adding new sites to the OSS Applications [ WRAN Explorer , …]
Adding the required Authority for OSS users.
Installing OSS Correction Packages with E/// Support.
Perform maintenance tasks for SQL Server including [ Altering
Data bases sizes, DB Consistency checks, ……]
Adding new Work Stations to the OSS Server.
Solving users problems with OSS applications [ SDM,SMIA,…] .
Performing Bi-Weekly [ FileSystem & Database ] Dump to Tape.
Provide Detailed reports on OSS resources , usages and performance
Upon request.
Performing OSS User Acceptance Tests.
Currently working with OSS RC4.1
Use HPOV to integrate non ericsson nodes with the OSS using SNMP
Protocol.
Maintaining a sound working relationship between the network operations
Section and all associated parties, within the company.
Coordinate and supervise installation of new OSS [H/W,S/W] with
The Vendor.
Insuring that all the OSS H/W firmware is on the latest release.
Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
Be involved in trial projects for new products & features.
Perform Knowledge transfer for young STC enginners.
Ready to restore any data required by the customer from old backups.

Reporting to his Team Leader at STC & Network OSS support manager.
Competence Profile
Competence
The 3G OSS system administrator should have a good knowledge in the field of Operating systems also he must have a good knowledge in the Relational Data base management systems, which is acquired through technical training and practical experience in Ericsson or another equivalent company, and he must have an average of 5 years experience in a similar position.
EDUCATION
The 3G OSS system administrator should have a B.S. In Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years UNIX administration experience.
