3G Performance Engineer
Job Description:
• Performance is a critical job in Telcom, it is ensuring that the network is running fine by extracting the necessary KPI`s, troubleshooting any degradation using other PI and highlighting to other departments and management in case anything is up normal so action can be taken to fix the problem.
• Defining the KPI for the MSC-s, Mgw, SGSN & GGSN.
• Deciding on what counters need to be kept in the database.
• Summarizing hourly counters for selected KPI to network, daily & weekly basis.
• Daily monitoring for the performance of the 3G core nodes.
• Analyzing any degradation for KPI`.
• Highlighting any degradation to related group.
• Following up with the related group in order to make sure that the issue is fixed.
• Creating reports for STC management.
• Understanding all new counters that are related to upgrades.
• Meeting with other departments to set the KPI`s targets.
Qualification (formal education needed):
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Good knowledge in English and good analytical ability is also required.
Requested competence:
• Good knowledge with SQL.
• Good knowledge with business objects.
• Understanding the core network elements specially Mgw.
• Be able to generate KPI`s by understanding the counters, in what stage is the counter incremented…etc.
• Be able to understand the customer (STC) requirements.
• Good knowledge on the ATM & IP concept.
