POET Plant Management is seeking a General Manager for POET Biorefining - Ashton, Iowa to oversee all business operations, plant operations, purchasing operations, marketing operations, personnel operations, and any and all other items relating to plant operations and profitability of the ethanol plant.
Responsibilities include:
* Timely reporting of financial information and operational information to the Management Committee.
* Maintain positive company image and relationship in city, community, county, state and nation.
* Communicate and enforce all employee policies, procedures and performance standards. Oversee wage and benefit package, with changes to be approved by the Board and POET.
* Ultimately responsible for performance management of all employees. This may include: performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, disciplinary action, career development, succession planning.
* Supervises professional, technical and support staff on a day-to-day bases, including determining workloads and schedules, implementing and interpreting policies and procedures, evaluating and training staff, approving and making hiring and termination recommendations. ensure that all city, county, state and federal rules and regulations are being met. This would include but not be limited to: air quality regulations, storm water discharge regulations, BATF regulations, OSHA regulations, state fuel regulations, state feed regulations, and any and all other regulations pertaining to plant operations.
* Observe all activities of the state and federal legislature and work diligently to retain all current incentives available to the ethanol industry. Also, work with any state or federal legislative effort that is positive to the ethanol industry.
* Approve all plant purchases involving new items. Raw material and replacement purchases may be handled by individual departments. Sign all checks and review all invoices on a timely basis.
* Oversee grain purchasing, ethanol marketing and distillers feed marketing departments. Ensure best pricing scenarios for all products.
* Ensure that all raw product costs are minimized and that all finished product costs are maximized.
* Report to Management Committee and Shareholders on a regular basis.
* Epitomize the values of POET daily with employees and the community and demonstrate acceptable level of leadership concerning deployment and implementation of all company-driving initiatives.

Experience in environments such as grain processing, food processing, or chemical processing beneficial.
