1. Position Summary
Under the organisational direction of the General Manager, the F&A manager is responsible for:
• Providing accurate and timely financial analysis covering month-end, management reporting, budget and forecast to the business
• Supporting in developing the long term strategic plan as well as the general vision and mission of the South African subsidiary.
• Supporting the management team, commercial and consumer marketing teams with evaluation of financial reports, and assisting with queries
• Responsible for planning, coordinating and creating overview concerning all operational material movements and information flows between the client organization and logistics and distribution partners.
• Undertaking cost/benefit and risks analysis to evaluate and support the general management team
• Initiate efficiencies and cost savings opportunities for the South African business
2. Description of Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
Controlling & Reporting
• The provision of relevant and accurate financial information and analysis on a timely basis.
• Preparation and consolidation of the quarterly forecasts and (long term) business plan.
• Variance analysis: BP, Revised Estimates vs. actual result
• Brand analysis: profitability and allocation of cost
• Forecasting & Reporting
• Monitoring of risks and opportunities
• Control, reporting and analysis of capital expenditure and business assets.
Financial Accounting & Administration
• Responsible for accounting in the company, internal & external accounting compliance
• Responsible for complying with all the requirements provided by law (civil law and tax law) in the country
• To develop/implement changes in group reporting & to manage the financial impact of process redesign.
• Responsible for managing the cash/bank situation of the subsidiary, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the HQ
• Audit, tax and legal subjects
• Linking pin with HR Responsible for managing issues relating to personnel (social security, healthy programs)
IT, Infrastructure & Integration
• Improve internal reports
• Responsible for local Infrastructure support and service level.
• Responsible for creating and implementing the IT-Business Plan
Supply Chain Management & Operations
• Formulates the operations annual plan and the accompanying budget
• Manages and develops the local distribution network with the third party logistic provider
• Carries out benchmarks, to be able to evaluate the logistics and purchase performances
• Managing an effective forecasting and planning system to be able to realize the targets related to material turnover and stock levels
• Has a leading role in improving standard processes and methods resulting in better service levels
Business Projects (After Inception)
• To support the business providing financial guidance for new projects & initiatives as required, e.g. sales and marketing programs
• Developing business guidelines, authorisation levels and improving internal controls
• Focus on improvements and integration of Finance, IT and Operations
• Cost savings programs
Develops a high performance team
• Takes care for good qualitative and quantitative team and a positive working environment (controlling, accounting and supply chain specialists)
• Divides the workload, guards the progress, productivity and quality, so that the goals can be accomplished.
• Develops "one F&A team" with mutual KPI`s Set clear performance indicators and coaches his employees and stimulates a good cooperation.
• Writes a development plan for the finance & operations organisation

3. Job Aims
• Forecasts & business plan are consolidated and reviewed with the general manager input into the corporate reporting system within pre-defined timescales.
• To own the financial aspects of the business plan and quarterly forecasts, challenging information where appropriate and ensuring that group reporting requirements are met within their timetable.
• To be the financial representative as part of project teams ensuring that initiatives are commercially viable and match the financial objectives/constraints of the long term business plan.
• Successful management of any Finance & Administration Manager led process changes.
• Assess training and development needs and launch successful programs
• Responsible for effective investment and spent of IT budget.
• Successful implementation of group reporting changes.
• Measurement through Key Performance Indicators, and the appraisal process. Formal / in-formal reviews should be conducted several times during the year to ensure any corrective action is taken as soon as required.
• Carry’s in new needs to- and from- the business in terms of reporting and IT
4. Essential Skill and Profile Requirements
• Requires experience in a related area, 7-9 years equivalent field experience
• People manager and team player
• Experience of supporting non-finance functions of the business, particularly sales and marketing
• Experience of financial / management accounting in a commercial environment
• Working in a business support function within a medium sized business
• Managing a business support team
