Job Description:
With over 3,000 employees in 25 countries, my client a leading and international service provider to the North Sea Oil & Gas sector has the immediate requirement for a Chief Accountant to be based in their offices in Stavanger Norway.
Working in a friendly and productive environment, you will be able to work under your own initiative in an organisation renowned for staff development and for career progression. Managing a team of 2 your role will involve the following:
Main responsibilities:
Preparation of Financial Reports for the branch in accordance with instructions from Corporate Accounting and timetable issued.
Timely preparation of statutory accounts.
Provide assistance on audit tax and related matters, including liaising with the auditors, tax consultants and regulatory bodies.
Preparation of Vat returns / Salary tax return
Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are up to date and supported by proper back-up.
Assist in Monthly Meetings with the Financial Controller for review of all the Finance Reports.
Monthly and Year End reporting in accordance with instructions and Timetable as issued by corporate accounting.
Liaise with auditors in Quarterly and YE audits of Group audit as well Norwegian statutory audit
Intercompany reconciliations.
Ensure closing of Books for the Norwegian Branch as per the deadlines set up by the Corporate / District Financial controller
Provide assistance in the preparation of business plans, budgets and forecasts.
Review, maintenance and continuous improvement of the internal control systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
