Job Details
- Report directly to the O&M Manager of the International Project Team
- Design, plan, install and test AVAYA PBXs, including traditional and VoIP switches. Document designs and as-built information using such software tools as MicroSoft Visio and/or OmniGraffle
- Analyzing traffic loads, available and existing port, and estimating or forecasting of projected traffic to determine future expansion needs or rearrangements and removals required
- Able to assemble and program AVAYA PBXs from the ground up to completion in an integrated network environment.
- Ability to manage people and mentor local nationals in AVAYA PBX operations.
- Ordering materials and equipment required, and directing work activities to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and work authorization.
- Ensure data accuracy

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Required Qualifications:
* More than two years’ experience in telecommunications AVAYA PBX design, implementation and maintenance is required. AVAYA Certification preferred, but depth of experience will be taken into consideration.
* Working knowledge of network infrastructure, transmission design and standards is preferred
* Knowledge of accepted engineering standards and practices to provision the network.
* Knowledge of network technology, architecture and elements and a strong understanding of their associated inter-workings.
* Must be legally entitled to work in Afghanistan
* Minimum of Grade 12; graduate of post-secondary education in Telephony, Networking, or Engineering would be considered a definite asset
* Demonstrated effective decision-making skills
* Self motivated, works well with minimal supervision
* Demonstrated professional oral and written English communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to cope with a variety of projects simultaneously
* Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, taking appropriate action
* Maintain high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast paced changing environment
* Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines
* Proficient using MS Office applications |
