A leading international foreign exchange company with offices in 10 countries is looking to recruit a Chief Accountant for their offices in Cyprus.
Chief Accountant will be reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for the overall book keeping, auditing and financial reporting of the company in cooperation with the Deputy CFO and CFO.
The main activities and responsibilities of the Chief Accountant will be:
•Book keeping: continuously update the in house accounting system and liaise with external accountants through daily and annual controls to ensure an effective accounting operation
•Financial reports: formation of monthly managerial reports for in house and external use, report to regulatory bodies, general and ad hoc reporting as and when required.
•To monitor the budget on an ongoing basis alongside the DCFO
•Reconciliations of client accounts, credit card deposits and refunds
•Overall responsibility of supplier payments and payment related systems
•Set up and maintenance of company bank accounts and banking relations
•Additional requirements
•To assists the CFO with various projects or duties as and when required
•Provide training for new Bank Office employees
Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential:
•Degree or equivalent (Business, Accounting or other) or CPA/ACA/ACCA Accounting Training qualified or partly qualified or qualified by experience, at least 5 years if no formal qualification has been obtained
•Excellent Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Intermediate Level)
Desirable:
•Masters Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent
Experience
Essential:
•At least 2-3 years experience within an accounting firm
•Experience in international corporate accounting (with subsidiaries)
•Working knowledge and experience in tax planning in Cyprus and Internationally
•Compliance awareness within a heavily regulated environment
•Supervisory Experience
