Purpose of Job
- Function focal point for all scaffolding activities on the ARP projects under APM management. Advise (sub-)contractors on relevant scaffolding standards and procedures.
- Promotes and motivates good working practices among ARP contractors personnel involved in working at height and scaffolding activities, and provides technical support in all aspects of slinging, rigging and scaffolding, including review of scaffold design.
- Function focal point for the scaffolding related activities and coordinate all necessary interfaces with sub-contractors, and BLNG Lifting and Scaffolding staff.
Principal accountabilities:
- The Scaffolding Suopervisor (APT/11) reports to Head of Engineering and Construction and works closely with Engineering and Construction Coordinator (APT/1) and Turnover Coordinator and Shutdown Engineer (APT/8). Scaffolding supervisor (APT/11) is accountable for the implementation of scaffolding standards and procedures and supervision of the execution of scaffolding and working at height on the ARP projects.
Accountabilities include:
1. Supervise the implementation of sub-contractors scaffolding erection plans that matches project specification and requirements with no threat to production and personnel safety.
2. Co-ordinate and supervise the execution of routine and non-routine project specific scaffolding activities, such that integrity and reliability requirement are met.
3. Supervise the daily management of scaffolding erection and inspection on ARP projects with special focus on Cooling Water System Rejuvenation and Coating Rejuvenation projects.
4. Supervising the implementation and performance monitoring of sub-contractors scaffolding team on the projects.
5. Supervision of all relevant health, safety, environment and sustainable development issues related to ARP project team activities
6. Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the relevant aspects of Sub-contractors scaffolding management.
7. Assisting in maintaining and improving relations and communication with all ARP project internal stakeholders on slinging, rigging and scaffolding related matters.
8. Supervise contractors’ scaffolding inspectors to ensure compliance to appropriate BLNG and international standards
9. Responsible for on the job coaching of contractor personnel to improve the existing skill among the local contractors.
10. Responsible for keeping a log of where scaffolds are erected and perform daily checks in critical and highly sensitive areas in the plant within ARP projects.
11. Responsible for keeping record of lessons learnt from scaffolding related incidents and ensuring such is communicate to all relevant stakeholders

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Qualifications
Required
Certificate of competency Scaffold Safety Inspection, and/or National Vocational Qualifications equivalent.
Preferred
Familiarity with Shell Management System, and other best HSE best practices.
Formal qualifications in scaffolding
Competence Required
Experience Minimum of 5 years experience in scaffolding and working at height with a construction or maintenance scaffolding background in the petroleum/gas/chemical industry.
Training
Relevant training that would enhance the ability to fulfill the job requirement.
Special Abilities
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation and outside parties
A working knowledge of:
- Engineering maintenance, construction, inspection, civil and workshop practices
- Construction Safety.
