LOCATION: Inagua, Bahamas
SUMMARY: The Assistant Plant Controller position plays a key role in the new plant accounting design under the Cost & Inventory Accounting group. He/She is responsible for the financial activities of the plant location. Foremost, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring a high level of service to plant management and regional accounting management. In addition, the position must ensure that all plant accounting activities are in compliance with the company’s corporate financial policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) protocol. The reporting lines are directly through the financial division with strong links to the designated plant management team.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the coordination of the local plants` financial requirements and oversight of other plant financial services such as Fixed Assets, General Ledger and Inventory verification
• Serve as site liaison for any local regulatory compliance issues such as SOX, internal or external tax audits.
• Conduct Month-End Close activities to ensure completion and in accordance with the authorized corporate time-frame (e.G. Utility allocations, review of auto-interfaced entries, prepare adjusting journal entries, review of actual results compared with budget, and account verifications)
• Perform the analytical month-end report for the local plant management
• Coordinate with Annual Business Planning to develop the annual plant budget with local management and regional corporate accounting
• Oversee Inventory/Product control to ensure accuracy of production reporting, conformance with cycle count procedures, and validity and accuracy of inventory adjustments
• Monitor plant CAR and Expense project activity to include review of project submission and asset disposal forms, monitoring/tracking of spending, review of Fixed Asset registers, support of plant fixed asset inventory requirements, and coordination of project close-outs with local engineering
• Monitor plant purchasing/accounts payable activities as it relates to financial impacts
• Team with Regional Operations Controller to investigate site-specific cost and margin questions originating from management and manage analytical projects driven by the business issues, such as sourcing, capacity utilization, operating costs, etc.
• Coordinate any third party contracts, local disbursements, local banking and cash management, and other site financial related support

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Qualifications:
• Bs/ba degree in Accounting/Finance concentrations and/or strong Accounting & analytical experience required
• CPA desired
• 4+ years of accounting experience with a minimum of two years prior experience in cost or plant accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and self-motivation to problem solve and deliver results
• Strong vision and leadership skills to manage interpersonal relationships internally
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with the leadership team
• Ability to balance competing priorities
• Possess problem resolution and decision making skills
• Effective interpersonal (oral and written) communication skills are required
• Strong working knowledge of computer and financial software
• Bahamas Citizenship or Residency is preferred |
