REPORTS TO: Plant Facility Manager
COMPANY: A $9 billion global specialty chemical company with over 16,500 employees developing specialty and performance materials
LOCATION: Inagua, Bahamas
SUMMARY: The Engineering Production Manager is responsible for the coordination and direction of the total plant engineering function with regard to design, installation, construction, production and overall analysis of plant projects. He/she will serve as Plant Manager in the absence of the manager.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the engineering, production and shipment teams
• Responsible for the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) of the Engineering Department’s quality goals
• Performs engineering review of all structural repairs and new construction for the surface facility
• Lead the Management of Change process as required by company EHS Standards
• Identify and implement solutions for obstacles which prevent obtaining targeted production output goals
• Provide resources for resolving operational reliability issues
• Manage work performed by outside contractors hired to do capital and expense projects and services on equipment
• Oversee large, complex capital projects and the preparation and submission of expense
• Initiates technical engineering recommendations involving the purchase of major equipment and supplies
• Conduct feasibility studies that include investigation data, estimation of cost and time requirements, reporting on alternatives and recommendations on course of action
• Manage Department employees scheduling, time management, discipline, training and development
• Develop subordinates to enhance their engineering and/or management promotional prospects

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing or similar disciplines
• Minimum 5-10 years of progressive management experience and technical expertise in engineering and industrial operations in a lean manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to complete multiple complex projects on time and within budget
• Must have organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work hands-on with a team under pressure to problem solve and deliver results
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills in managing interpersonal relationships
• Effectively communicate difficult oral and written ideas to gain acceptance of proposals with senior leadership and technical staff
• Must possess the ability to plan, organize, direct and control programs, policies and procedures
• Provide technical expertise and understanding of the equipment utilized in plant operations
• Ability to effect positive change and increase performance
• Ability to interface with plant, technical, research and commercial members at all levels within the company
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly (highly developmental) and successfully handle increasingly responsible assignments to grow with the company
• Strong working knowledge of computer software
• Bahamas Citizenship or Residency is preferred
