Job Description
This is the experienced level of work in the field of clinical pharmacy. Employees in this classification are responsible for providing clinical pharmaceutical services for a patient population involving the establishment and maintenance of policies concerning drug use patterns related to drug use or adverse drug reactions; establishing and maintaining patient drug profile systems; reviewing physician’s orders before drugs are administered to patients; and evaluating clinical data concerning the admission of drugs to the formulary. Clinical Pharmacists may supervise subordinate personnel involved in clinical pharmacy procedures and operations.
Responsibilities Include:
• Initiating and participating in clinical rounds and research
• Instructing medical, nursing and pharmacy residents, students and staff about proper drug therapy
• Conducting QI activities and keep accurate records
• Oversee in-service education/orientation of pharmacy and nursing personnel
• Manage information transfer for medications for patients converted to inpatient care
• Educate patients about discharge medications

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
Or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy with Critical Care residency (Pgy2)
License:
Must possess a valid license for North Carolina
