Position summary:
The Elementary classroom teacher is responsible for the overall education of the students assigned. It is the teachers’ primary responsibility to provide academic and spiritual direction and leadership to the students by carefully following the prescribed curriculum, policy, procedures and expectations for Christian excellence.

Works in cooperation with:
Other classroom teachers, special service providers, clerical support staff.
Examples of specific duties and requirements:
• Plan and coordinate each student’s and the class’s education.
• Carefully monitor each child’s academic progress.
• Provide a structured, disciplined classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s academic strengths and weaknesses.
• Assure that each child is invited to know Jesus as personal savior.
• Serve on committees and work groups to help the school achieve its goals and mission. Example; curriculum teams.
• Carefully follow school policy and staff handbook.
• Understand and help carryout the schools strategic plan.
• Manage student behavior so as to maximize learning time.
• Remain current in the science of education by actively participating in staff development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned that are consistent with expectations of the position.

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Educational requirements:
-A minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited college with a major in elementary education;
-hold or be eligible for a teaching license/credential from a state teacher licensing agency.
Other requirements:
1. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
2. A sound understanding of the Bible, good Christian character and strong witness.
3. A sound philosophy of Christian Education
4. A broad understanding of the nature of society, and the ability to understand the unique challenges in living and ministering in a cross-cultural setting.
5. A thorough understanding of children and young people.
6. A thorough understanding of the teaching-learning process. |
