Summary:
Project and Operations Manager will be responsible for project management engineering and field supervision from initial bid through project close-out in the Pittsburgh and Western PA area. Person must have a solid career progression so they have to be moving up to a management role.
***No entry level candidates will be considered!!***
Ideal candidate will be mid level in his/her career with several solid years of experience in Road Construction projects.
Responsibilities:
• Management of PennDOT, municipal, and commercial projects.
• Will supervise and coordinate all activities and employees relating to projects.
• Planning and insuring adherence to construction schedules.
• Compliance and enforcement with contract documents, codes, legal regulations, and safety programs.
• Quality and cost control.
• Will act as liaison to the regional manager by providing feedback on estimated labor requirements, materials procurement and placement, and equipment staging and utilization.
• Prosecution of work.
• Will be responsible for the timely completion of projects while remaining within budget.
• Will have frequent contact with trade workers, foreman, estimators, government officials, suppliers, vendors, customers and members of the public.
Qualifications :
• Must have work experience in general construction.
• Employer wants someone with :
O Road Construction,
O maintenance,
O surface treatments,
O excavation & grading,
O concrete & asphalt paving,
O concrete structures & rehab,
O storm and sanitary sewers,
O waterlines
***Must Have thorough understanding of PennDOT Specifications***
***Must be able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate employees and equipment for multiple ongoing projects at the same time***
***Must Have Capability to develop project cost estimates***
***Must have good knowledge of local subcontractor market***
***Must be able to identify and qualify sub-contractors for projects and monitor performance.
Must have experience in crew supervision to obtain top quality, workmanship, efficiency, communication, commitment, and teamwork***
***Strong leadership skills necessary***
***Must be a hands on team player, willing to travel***
***Person must have a solid career progression so they have to be moving up to a management role***
