Structural Engineer
The Structural Engineer will be assigned responsibility for the supervision and management of the structural design and construction coordination of the project, mainly during the site phase of the work. Responsibilities will include the managing of engineering interfaces, contractors design information and supervision and management of the Structural Contractor(s) to ensure the timely and correct completion of the specified site works.
This role is a strategic one within the organisation and as such is a key appointment
1. Maintenance of adequate communication links and interfaces between all project disciplines and Site Manager / Project Manger
2. Supervise, manage, coordinate and control the site activities of the Project Team and Structural Contractor(s)
3. Manage and coordinate the technical interfaces or clarifications between disciplines, different Contractors and project areas.
4. Maintain surveillance of all project activities and where necessary initiate corrective actions to meet the projects objectives
5. Ensure compliance with the Technical Specification and Performance criteria.
6. Ensure adherence to or improvement on project time schedule
7. Identification and management of project risks
8. Ensure that satisfactory safety standards and safe working practices are adhered to
9. Ensure that appropriate quality standards are implemented and adhered to
10. Attend regular progress review meetings to facilitate the production of regular progress reports.

Essential
• English is the main language to be used on the contract and therefore the candidate should be able to demonstrate good verbal and written English.
• Ideally, candidates must be able to operate at degree level or equivalent.
• The ability to communicate in Arabic would be an advantage.
• Experience of working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
• Proven experience of supervising and managing structural activities for a large scale manufacturing project from inception to completion.
• Experience of working within the Steel industry sector.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the strategic issues affecting the business and be a results orientated proactive self-starter. He should be able to offer practical examples of when he has used the competencies identified below.
